Team SCA cut a dash in magenta and navy blue
Looking good in magenta and navy blue! Here’s a preview of how the all-women’s crew of Team SCA will look when they launch their Volvo Ocean Race campaign in 2014-15.
Team SCA have unveiled this design for the 12th edition that will replicate the look of their racing yacht when it is launched later this year.
The nature-inspired graphic and colours are designed to reflect the eco-friendly values of the global hygiene company that last year entered the all-female crew for the next edition of sailing’s premier professional offshore event.
SCA, which is also Europe’s largest forest owner, plan to use the Volvo Ocean Race as a global marketing platform to strengthen awareness of their brand and also their product names including TENA, Tork, Libresse, Libero and Tempo.
Stockholm-based design agency TABS developed the design with SCA.
“SCA’s corporate brand concept ‘care of life’ was used as a guiding star in the design process,” said Christoph Michalski. The design contains grass, pine trees and dandelions – all tough and resistant species vital to the eco-system.
At the beginning of February, a number of Team SCA women crew candidates will leave Southampton on a first test sail together with several leading off-shore coaches.
Team SCA have not revealed the identity of any of the crew yet including the skipper.
The training yacht left a boatyard in Southampton on Thursday (January 17).

Cuando Farr presentó el Farr 400 dijo que si no había limitaciones de regla, la proa con un leve lanzamiento era más efectivamente que la proa recta. Si esto es one design y no tiene limitación, porqué le hizo la proa recta ?
Espero que no se rompan cómo le pasó a la mayor parte de los Farr VO70.

Si claro, es el que van a usar como plataforma de entrenamiento.
