USA WINS AUDI SARDINIA CUP
Quantum Racing and Iberdrola sweep the board

Porto Cervo, Italy. 17th June 2012. Team USA, composed of the TP52 Quantum Racing skippered by Ed Baird and the Soto 40 Iberdrola with Jose Maria Torcida Seghers at the helm, has claimed victory in the Audi Sardinia Cup 2012. Both boats claimed their fourth bullet of the series in today’s seventh and final race of the event organized biennially by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda since 1978, to leave them 11 points clear of first runner up Team Italy. Audi Azzurra Sailing Team (TP52) and the Soto 40 Alegre took a fourth and a second place respectively today to retain the second place overall that they have held since the second day of racing. British boats Gladiator (TP52), owned by Tony Langley and with Chris Larson on tactics, and Tony Buckingham’s Ngoni (Soto 40) took third place.

Porto Cervo, Italy. 16th June 2012. Coastal courses winding through the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago combined with patchy breeze to put both the Soto 40 and the TP52 classes to the test today during the penultimate day’s racing in the Audi Sardinia Cup 2012. The provisional overall team classification has Team USA, composed of the TP52 Quantum Racing and the Soto 40 Iberdrola, retaining their lead over second-placed Italy represented by Audi Azzurra Sailing Team (TP52) – which claimed an important win today – and Alegre (Soto 40). Great Britain, represented by the TP52 Gladiator and the Soto 40 Ngoni sit in third place.

TEAM USA PRENDE IL COMANDO

Porto Cervo, 15 giugno 2012. Cielo terso, sole splendente e un vento leggero da est intorno ai 6/8 nodi: questa la cornice della seconda giornata di regate dell’Audi Sardinia Cup, la manifestazione organizzata dallo Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, in calendario fino a domenica 17 giugno. Giornata intensa oggi, con tre prove a bastone che hanno movimentato la classifica overall dei team portando in testa, con un vantaggio di 9 punti, la squadra statunitense composta da Quantum Racing (TP52) e da Iberdrola Team, il Soto 40 che oggi ha portato a casa tre vittorie. Seconda posizione per l’Italia, rappresentata dal Soto 40 Alegre e dal TP52 Audi Azzurra Sailing Team; segue l’accoppiata svedese Black Pearl (Soto 40) e Ràn (TP52).

ITALY LEADS AUDI SARDINIA CUP
Alegre and Quantum Racing shine

Porto Cervo, Italy. 14th June 2012. With two races held, Team Italy leads the overall classification of the Audi Sardinia Cup thanks to two bullets claimed by Andres Soriano’s Soto 40 Alegre and solid third and second places from the TP52 Audi Azzurra Sailing Team, owned by Alberto Roemmers. The team classification sees Quantum Racing (TP52) and Iberdrola (Soto 40) representing the USA in second place while Sweden, represented by Niklas Zennstrom’s TP52 Ràn and the Soto 40 Black Pearl, round out the provisional podium in third place. The Audi Sardinia Cup is a biennial event for national teams organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and underway from 11th to 17th June.

MISTRAL TAKES DAY ONE AT AUDI SARDINIA CUP

Porto Cervo, 13th June 2012. The infamous Sardinian Mistral, which contributes to making the race course off Porto Cervo one of the best in the world, had been buffeting the Costa Smeralda at 28 to 34 knots for over 24 hours when the Race Committee was forced to abandon racing on Day One of the Audi Sardinia Cup 2012. The competing teams, each composed of a TP52 and Soto 40, remained ashore waiting for the predicted drop in intensity however at 15.45 and with no sign of the Mistral abating the final decision was an obvious one. A further four days of racing are scheduled, including a coastal course for both classes, in the event organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda from 11th to 17th June.

ALL SET FOR AUDI SARDINIA CUP

Porto Cervo, 12th June 2012. A fleet of TP52 and Soto 40 racing yachts representing six nations – Cayman Islands, France, Great Britain, Italy, Sweden and the USA – is ready for the start of racing in the Audi Sardinia Cup, scheduled to commence tomorrow in Porto Cervo at 12 midday. The biennial event, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) since 1978, this year sees teams composed of a TP52 and a Soto 40 compete for the Sardinia Cup challenge trophy based on the combined points of the two boats.

EL 39º TROFEO CONDE DE GODO DE VELA YA TIENE GANADORES

Magic Carpet 2 y Roykan 2 en clase Wally, Quantum Racing en TP52, Ngoni en Soto 40, Nilfisk en J80 y Es Tes Unno, Lone y Si BW Ana en ORC 0,1 Y 2.

El Real Club Náutico de Barcelona cierra con broche de oro una 39º edición marcada por la internacionalización de la prueba y una excelente organización tanto en la mar como en tierra, pese a que en la última jornada la ausencia de viento ha impedido la celebración de las pruebas.

La clase Wally se rinde ante el Magic Capet 2 y el Roycan 2

La clase Wally ha rendido pleitesía en el 39 Trofeo Conde de Godo al Magic Carpet 2 de Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones y con Daniel Gallichan a los mandos, en la clase Wally 1, y que ha ganado cuatro de las seis regatas que ha disputado. Segundo en su clase ha sido el Open Season y tercero el J One.

JORNADA APRETADA EN EL 39º TROFEO CONDE DE GODO DE VELA

Tercera jornada de competición para las categorías profesionales Wally, TP52 y Soto40 y segunda para ORC y J-80.

Magic Carpet 2, Roycan 2, Quantum Racing, Ngoni, Nilfisk, Es Tes Unno, Vertigo dos, Si BW Ana, Parten hacia la jornada final como líderes del 39º Trofeo Conde de Godó.

Pese a que las condiciones en la tercera jornada no han sido tan perfectas como el pasado viernes,el Comité de Regatas del 39º Trofeo Conde de Godó ha hecho un excelente trabajo con la disputa de dos regatas por clase, en una jornada caracterizada por un viento ligero e incluso un poco inestable.

La costa de Barcelona ofrece unas condiciones espectaculares para la navegación

ARRANCA UN 39º TROFEO CONDE DE GODO DE VERDADERO LUJO

Comienzo con mucha emoción. Un triple empate encabeza la clasificación de la clase Wally, mientras que en TP52 el AUDI Azzurra reclama el protagonismo de la jornada y en Soto 40 cae momentáneamente el imbatible Iberdrola ante un valiente Ngoni.

Con una excelente calidad de los participantes en las diferentes categorías (Wally, TP52, Soto 40, ORC y J80) y bajo una impecable organización del Real Club Náutico de Barcelona ha arrancado el 39º Trofeo Conde de Godo de Vela con un plantel de lujo.
